DOWNFIELD GOLF COURSE - EARLY 60'S

Both the photo and the map are from the early 60's period and show the section of Downfield Golf Course that was given over for the Ardler multis to be built on.

  1. We lived in St Giles Terrace and during the holidays half the kids from St Mary's would sneak through the fence in St Fillan's Road and go to the taddie ponds on the golf course and collect golf balls that had gone off target. We wouldn't be too worried about golfers but when we saw the greenie we would nip back smartish across the fairways and through the trees back to the scheme
